Valle’s Fowler Nets Season-High 16 In Loss

PERRYVILLE — Hannah Fowler paced the Valle Catholic High School girls’ basketball team with 16 points.

But, it wasn’t enough as Perryville topped the Warriors 52-35 in Valle’s final game before Christmas.

Fowler connected on seven field goals and two free throws as part of her performance.

Riley Siebert added seven points.

Valle Catholic was ahead 11-5 at the end of one quarter; however, Perryville scored 30 second-quarter points to take command of the game.

Leah Buerck netted 17 points and Ciara Ehlers 11 for Perryville (4-2 record).

Valle Catholic dropped to 2-5 on the season heading into the 2nd Annual First Community Bank Tournament this week at both Kingston and West County.

Valle squared off with Valley Caledonia on Monday afternoon, too late for this press run of the Ste. Genevieve Herald. The Warriors are guaranteed four games this week.

West County drops out

of Warriors Classic

The West County boys’ basketball team dropped out of the Winter Warriors Classic scheduled for Valle Catholic High School this week.

First-round match-ups on Monday were No. 3 Valle Catholic (4-3 record) versus No. 6 Kingston, No. 2 St. Vincent (Perryville) against No. 7 St. Paul (Farmington) and No. 4 Fox (Arnold) against No. 5 Saxony Lutheran (Jackson). Seckman (Arnold) drew the bye as the No. 1 seed.
