Valle Splits Games

FROM STAFF REPORTS

The Valle Catholic girls’ basketball team split a pair of games on the road last week, which included a 54-52 victory over St. Paul Lutheran in Farmington on Monday, Dec. 14.

The Warriors also suffered a 55-27 loss to Potosi on Dec. 16.

In the win over St. Paul, Valle head coach Brian Bauman credited Hannah Fowler for playing well defensively. She also scored eight points.

Riley Siebert paced the Warriors with 17 points, followed by 12 from Bryna Blum — all on four 3-pointers. Emma Christine also cracked double-digit scoring for the first time this season with 11. Ade Weiler added four, and Sam Loida one.

In the victory over St. Paul, Bauman said accurate free-throw shooting is what helped the girls win.

Valle Catholic canned 12-of-17 free throws (70.5 percent), including 5-of-7 from the line during the fourth quarter.

Fowler was the Warriors’ leading scorer with 11 points, Ade Weiler eight, Siebert six and Blum two. Mia Weiler also didn’t play, which further depleted depth-challenged Valle Catholic.
