‘Voice Of Democracy’ Winners Revealed

Three Ste. Genevieve High School students were recognized through Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2210’s annual “Voice of Democracy” contest.

The theme of this year’s oral essay was “Is This the Country the Founders Envisioned?”

Freshman Madison Travis took top honors, earning $200 from the VFW Auxiliary.

Courtney Rector was second, earning $150, while Alexis Slape was third overall, with a prize amount of $100.

All of these students are enrolled in Dr. Rhett Oldham’s Topics and Research in History class.

The three students also will advance to the district competition in Farmington at a later date.
