Hindsight, as we all know, is 20/20.

That concept certainly wasn’t lost on Valle Catholic head football coach Judd Naeger as the Warriors found themselves in the uncustomary position of a Missouri State High School Activities Association district semifinal round loss Friday evening at Father Dempsey Field.

St. Mary’s scored the first 21 points of the game en route to a 55-22 conquest, setting up this Friday’s Class 3 District 1 final between the Dragons and Kennett. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Metz Cherry Stadium.

“We should have run to set up the pass, rather than pass to set up the run,” Naeger said. “On defense, we never really found ourselves in this game.”

Jayden Gegg suffered an unspecified injury, which left the Warriors searching for other options.
