Myra Lee Brazie
Myra Lee Brazie, age 88, of Laurie, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Camdenton Windsor Estates. She was born September 30, 1932, in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, the daughter of the late Eugene and Irene Roth.
She married her high school sweetheart, John Francis Nanney (known as Junior or Ace) in 1958 and remained happily married until his passing in 1974. In 1979, she married police officer, David Lee Brazie. In 1995, the couple moved from St. Louis to Lake of the Ozarks to enjoy their retirement. He passed away in 2015.
Myra retired from Southwestern Bell in 1992, after having been an accounting clerk for 40 years.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Laurie Care Center and Community for Christ. As for hobbies, she enjoyed bowling, playing bunco and outings with her friends and her Red Hat Society. She was also a devoted Cardinals fan.
She is survived by her son, Parker Nanney and granddaughter, Taylor Nanney both of St. Louis; brothers, Robert (Delores) Roth and Paul “Rocky” Roth both of Ste. Genevieve, as well as many other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 20, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie with Father John Schmitz celebrating. Social distancing and masks are required inside the church. Graveside services and interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
