Herbert A. Flieg, Jr. of Ste. Genevieve died Friday, October 2, 2020 at home in Ste. Genevieve. He was 78 years old.
He was born on January 25, 1942 in Ste. Genevieve. He was married to Mary Ann (Bauman) Flieg on October 17, 1964 and she survies him in Ste. Genevieve.
He is also survived by son Darren (Angie) Flieg of Ste. Genevieve; daughter Christine (Bob) Thomison of Sanger, Texas; daughter Michelle (Danny) Dallas of Ste. Genevieve; son Jason (Dr. Julie) Flieg of Ste. Genevieve; daughter Beverly (Kevin) Basler of Fenton, Missouri; brother Donald (Diane) Flieg of Ste. Genevieve; sister Diane (Erwin) Bauman of Ste. Genevieve; brother David (Gerti) Flieg Ste. Genevieve; brother James Flieg (Nancy Glass) of Ste. Genevieve; sister Mary Grass (Gary Basler) of Ste. Genevieve; 15 grandchildren, Jacob Snider, Taylor Reed, Emma Flieg, Andrew (Candice) Flieg, Anthony Thomison, Canyon Thomison, Case Thomison, Dr. Gwendolyn (Tyler) Scott, Brendan Dallas, Wyatt Flieg, Tayon Flieg, Coy Flieg, Marysa Flieg, Grant Basler, and Ella Basler; and one great grandchild, Royal Scott.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Flieg, Sr. and his mother, Emma (Schwent) Flieg.
Memberships and Life Achievements: Co-founder and previous co-owner of Flieg’s Equipment Inc.; Member of the Weingarten Jaycees and Ste. Genevieve Elks Lodge; Co-founder of and volunteer for the Weingarten Volunteer Fire Department; Member of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish in Weingarten.
Visitation will be at Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The family asks that you please wear a mask during the visitation.
Service will be at Our Lady Help of Christians on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 10 a.m. The Clergy will be Rev. Francis Koeninger.
Due to space limitations, immediate family members only will be allowed to attend the church service. Masks will be required for those attending the church service.
Burial will be at Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery in Weingarten. Military graveside services performed by VFW Post 2210.
Family and friends are invited to attend the burial. Masks will be required for those attending the burial.
