Art Guild Open House Is Postponed
After having to postpone their May 2 opening house for their new Ste. Genevieve Art Center and Art Museum, the Ste. Genevieve Art Guild is having to postpone again.
“This spring we announced July 18 as the formal opening date for the new Art Center & Art Museum on the courthouse square,” Guild President Carolyn Bach said in a press release. “We had planned a ‘grand opening’ featuring an exhibit honoring the Ste. Genevieve Art Colony legacy, along with a show of member art.”
She had discovered that on May 2, 1937 the legendry art colony had held a show in the building. Some of the actual works of art displayed that day were tracked down to show again this year.
