Rita O. Ramer

Rita O. Ramer of Ste. Genevieve died on Friday, June 12, 2020, at her home. She was 85 years old.
She was born November 17, 1934, in Zell, a daughter of Frederick A. Bauman and Grace (Grein) Bauman.
She was married to Thomas P. Ramer Sr. on June 19, 1954, and he preceded her in death.
She is surived by two daughters, Renee Rothweiler and her husband Doug of Crystal City, Cathy Schweigert and her husband Tom of Ste. Genevieve; three sons, Tom Ramer Jr. and his wife Mary Jo of Ste. Genevieve, Paul “Joe” Ramer and his wife Debbie of Ste. Genevieve, Michael Ramer and his wife Charlene of St. Peters; two sisters, Vernetta Orem and her husband John of Ste. Genevieve, Henrietta Bartels of Ste. Genevieve; two brothers, Herbert Bauman of Ste. Genevieve, David Bauman and his wife Debbie of Florida; 14 grandchildren, Brian Schweigert and his wife Becky, Kelly Jokerst and her husband Brian, Sarah Burton and her husband James, Erin Rothweiler and special friend Nathan Palmer, Nicole Ramer and her husband Nate Molner, Jaime Biermann and her husband Josh, Michael Ramer and his wife Jessica, Joshua Ramer and special friend Deanna Gegg, Erica Palmer and her husband Landon, Richele Ramer and special friend Thomas Boland, Zachary Ramer, Rachel Rieder, Thomas Ramer, Rebecca Ramer; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jacob Schweigert, Justin Schweigert, Mabrey Jokerst,  Laney Jokerst, Luke Biermann, Tessa Biermann, Lincoln Palmer, Maverick Palmer, Ruth Ramer, Kase Ramer.
In  addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosemary Meyer, Jane Kniestedt; and three brothers, Francis Bauman, Norbert Bauman, Carroll Bauman.
She was a member of Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, quilt club, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was a nurse at the Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital for more than 30 years. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and hosting big family meals on Sunday. She also enjoyed traveling and gambling, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 18 at the Church of  Ste. Genevieve. Rev. Edward Nemeth will officiate. Basler Funeral Home of Ste. Genevieve is handling the arrangements.
