St. Mary’s Mayoral Race Results In Tie

The three-way race for mayor in the city of St. Mary ended in a two-way tie following the tabulation of votes in the June 2 Municipal Election.
Incumbent Gloria Bader and former mayor Carl Wyatt each came away with 37 votes. Former alderman Paul Franklin received nine.
There were two write-in votes and two ballots submitted without votes.
City manager David Woods said Monday that the city would have a run-off election with the County Clerk’s Office requesting the race take place “as soon as possible,” he said, due to August Primary Election looming.
The date will be set during this Thursday’s Board of Aldermen meeting.
