Start Your Engines: Kart, Lawnmower Races Start This Weekend

The Ste. Genevieve County Race Series will kick off its 2020 season this Saturday night.

The series takes place at the Ste. Genevieve County Fairgrounds with events every other weekend. The series had been scheduled to start earlier this year but was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Racing dates are set for June 20, July 4, July 18, August 1, August 15, August 29, September 12, September 26, October 10, October 24. Racing starts at 6:30 p.m. each night. Pits open at 4 p.m. and hot laps start at 5:30 p.m.

The grandstand opens at 5 p.m, and tickets are $3 per person. Families may sit together but social distancing requires others to be six feet apart. Pit passes are $10 per person, and the cost to race is $15 per driver. The Fourth of July and October 24 finals will be longer races.
