Smith Reelected To Ward 1 Seat

Ste. Genevieve Ward 1 Alderman Gary Smith won reelection to another term, receiving 41 votes to 15 for challenger Sam Ewing and 6 for challenger and one-time Alderman Jerry “Lemon” Klein. Smith received 65.1 percent of the vote, to 23.8 percent for Ewing and 9.5 percent for Klein.

Ward 2 Alderman Bob Donovan, Ward 3 Aldermen Jeff Eydmann and Mike Raney, and Ward 4 Alderman Joe Prince  ran unopposed. Edymann, who was appointed to fill Jimmie Jones’ term, received 84 votes, while Raney got 75, Prince got 48 and Donovan 45.
