Lenn Ray Martin

Lenn Ray “Lenny” Martin of Festus died on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus. He was 64 years old.
He was born July 29, 1955, in Perryville.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Helen (Miller) Martin; two daughters, Lara Martin, Christel Martin; two sistes, Norma Baer, Kathy Rabold; in-laws Bernard Baer, William and Karen Miller, Carl Miller, Jack Miller, and Harry Lasswell; eight nieces and nephews, Sharon Coffman, Adam Hemingway, Josh Moll, Scott Lasswell, Lesa Goodman, Adam Miller, Annamarie Hess, Evan Miller.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles “CJ” Martin; his mother, Helen (Moll) Zahner; his stepfather, Raymond Zahner; his twin brother, Lemuel Martin; one nephew, Jason (Martin) Moll; one brother-in-law, Larry Rabold; one niece, Stephanie Campbell; one nephew, Aaron Hemingway; and three sisters-in-law, Carol Lasswell, Sheila Miller, and Kathy Martin.
He was a hard-working, fun-loving husband and father who took pride in his family. He enjoyed yard work, gardening, fishing and hunting, telling stories and jokes, and jammin’ to the tunes. He was a mister-fix-it, electrician, plumber, and carpenter to friends in need.
He was a member of the Ste. Genevieve High School Class of 1973. He served in the U.S. Army, and he subsequently retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers having worked as a deck-hand, mechanic, and inspector on barges, dredge boats and the locks and dams along the Mississippi River.
He will be missed but will always be in our hearts. Even in heaven, he still rides and rocks it.
A memorial service will take place at a later date. Basler Funeral Home of Ste. Genevieve is handling the arrangements.
