Robert L. Wilson

Robert “Bob” Leon Wilson Jr. died at his home on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. He was 66 years old.
He was born in Hutchinson, Kansas, a son of Robert and Emily Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan Harvey Wilson; their two children, Jay Wilson and his wife Talitha, Sarah Wilson; and seven grandchildren, Jayden, Kynnadie, Brooklyn, Gabriel, Pierce, Dane, Kaleb; his daughter, Danielle Wegener and her husband James of Manitou Springs, Colorado; grandson Sage Wegener; two brothers, James Wilson of Hutchison, Kansas, Mark Wilson of Hutchinson, Kansas; one sister, Christina Wilson of Mexico, New York; three nieces Grace, Faith, Erin; six nephews, Matt, Thomas, Ben, Nick, Brandon, Jacob; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He and his wife made their home in Ozora for more than 44 years and raised their children there.
A graduate of Buhler (Kansas) High School, he was a Navy veteran and honed his skills to become a master carpenter and operate his own cabinetry business before retiring from Macon Construction in 2017.
He served as an EMT with the Ozora Volunteer Fire Department, was a faithful member of the Cape County Cowboy Church as well as the designated “Bobfather” of the Lower Ozora community through his close ties to neighbors and remarkable ability to barter.
He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of life will take place at a later time to be determined. Basler Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
