Skid Steer Damage May Not Be As Bad As Feared

Road and bridge foreman Scott Schmieder reported at the April 27 Ste. Genevieve County Commission meeting that the damaged skid steer may be in better shape than previously thought.
Diesel exhaust fluid, a mixture of urea and de-ionized water used to break down diesel emissions, had accidentally been poured into the hydraulic system.
Road crew personnel flushed the system and Schmieder said it “looks good.” The tank was flushed three times to get the milky residue out of the system. It was then going to be run for 40 hours and the filter cut open to see if any metal shavings have gone into it.
