Zelma M. Allen
Zelma M. Allen of St. Mary died on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at her home. She was 80 years old.
She was born January 28, 1940, in Kaskaskia, Illinois, a daughter of Clarence Denninger and Violet (Jackson) Denninger.
She was married to Paul R. Allen on January 19, 1957, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter, Connie Sue Allen of Perryville; two sons, Anthony W. Allen and his wife Donna of St. Mary, Billy A. Allen and his wife Jean of Altenburg; three sisters, Erma Hogenmiller of Ste. Genevieve, Gladys Moll and her husband Leonard of St. Mary, Eunice Allen and her husband Lloyd of St. Mary; one brother, Stanley Denninger and his wife Sue of Perryville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Russell Paul Allen; one sister, Elnora Brown; and one brother, Clarence Denninger.
She was of Catholic faith. She loved to draw and sew, but most of all she loved her children and grandchildren very much.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 25, at Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. Burial was at St. Mary Cemetery in St. Mary. Basler Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
