Wilfred ‘Fritz’ Mehner

Wilfred “Fritz” M. Mehner of Ste. Genevieve, and formerly of Perryville, died on Sunday, April 5, 2020, at Ste. Genevieve Care Center. He was 81 years old.
He was born March 27, 1939, in Menfro, Missouri, a son of Ruben Mehner and Ella (Boxdorfer) Mehner.
He was married to LaVerne R. (Hennemann) Mehner on May 16, 1959, and she survives in Ste. Genevieve.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mary Donze and her husband Nick of Ste. Genevieve, Jane Stock and her husband Dan of Buckner, Missouri; one son, Keith Mehner and special friend Harry Hausler of Cape Town, South Africa; two brothers, Raymond “Bud” Mehner and his wife Norma of Perryville, Larry Mehner and his wife Joyce of Perryville; five grandchildren, Claire, Brent, Ana, Mark, Alinafe; and two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Brady, with one on the way.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Muriel Argus, Juana Moonier, Norma Catanzaro, Rosella Hennemann.
He was a member of St. Agnes Parish in Bloomsdale, Knights of Columbus Council No. 1037, and Carpenters Union 2214. He was a master carpenter and loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting.
Services will be at a later date. Basler Funeral Home of Ste. Genevieve is handling the arrangements.
