Marvin C. Basler
Marvin C. Basler of Ste. Genevieve died on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at Ste. Genevieve Care Center. He was 82 years old.
He was born June 29, 1937, in River Aux Vases, a son of Raymond C. Basler and Rosemary (Schweigert) Basler.
He was married to Loretta (Hermann) Basler on June 20, 1959, and she survives in Ste. Genevieve.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Janice Basler of Chesterfield, Patricia Giesler of Clayton, Trina Basler of Valley Park, Paula Jokerst and her husband Rodney of Lake Zurich, Illinois, Jennifer Wolk and her husband Jason of Weingarten; one son, Kevin Basler and his wife Beverly of Fenton; five brothers, Raymond “Schnay” Basler and his wife Jeanette of Ste. Genevieve, Arthur “Porky” Basler of Ste. Genevieve, Robert Basler and his wife Gloria of Ste. Genevieve, Larry Basler and his wife Gloria Jean of Ste. Genevieve, Kenny Basler of Ste. Genevieve; 10 grandchildren, Grant Basler, Ella Basler, Kyle Giesler and his wife Maggie, Dana Roth and her husband Curt, Caroline Jokerst, Abby Jokerst, Natalie Jokerst, Will Jokerst, Macy Wolk, Lauren Wolk; and four great-grandchildren, Ben and Claire Giesler, Kate and Tucker Roth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Mae Samson, Norma Jean Eans and Mary Lou Kertz.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1037 and American Legion Post 150, of which he was a past commander. He was a painter and wallpaper-hanger for more than 50 years. He was avid Valle football fan and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially his grandkids.
Services will take place at a later date. Basler Funeral Home of Ste. Genevieve handled the arrangements.
