Jour De Fete Committee Rounds Out Slate Of Officers With New Treasurer
The Jour de Fete Committee has a secretary, giving it a full slate of officers for the 2020 event.
“We’re good for another year,” committee president Jami Inman said on February 19 after Paul Arnold volunteered for the position.
Arnold is president of the Special Road District A.
He joins new officers Victoria Heil, craft vendor chairperson, and Abigail Kern, treasurer. They were both elected in November.
Joan Noll and Brenda Hayden both retired from the board after several years, though they agreed to stay active to ensure the event continued in 2020. Noll had handled the treasurer’s duties and Hayden was both secretary and craft vendor chairperson.
Inman said the future of Jour de Fete hinged on finding replacements for all three positions.
The annual craft show takes place in August and is one of Ste. Genevieve’s best-known events, combining recognition of the city’s pioneer families with musical entertainment and crafts and food booths throughout downtown Ste. Genevieve.
