Ribbon Cut To Mark Opening Of Walk-In Clinic At Pointe Basse Plaza

Tom Keim and Missy Sutton believe Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital’s new walk-in clinic in PointE Basse Plaza will enhance the health of busy county and city residents.

“This has been something we’ve had in Bloomsdale since 2012, and it’s been a huge success, providing access to care so people can walk in without an appointment, [and] see a provider for their care,” Keim, SGCMH CEO, said following a ribbon-cutting for the clinic on February 3. “We’re very excited to finally bring this to Ste. Gen.”

SGCMH also is nearing completion of a new medical office building on the hospital campus.

“As you know, we have a little project going across the street, where we are adding a physician clinic and expanded med/surgical rooms to Ste. Gen. as well,” Keim said. “This is just another phase of our ability to expand access to care — not only to Ste. Gen. but the many people that come into Ste. Gen. on a daily basis, that they can see a provider and get taken carE of. Then, if they want to get hooked up with one of our primary care physicians, they can easily go across the street or go to one of our mini-clinics.

“We are very excited.”

Sutton, SGCMH’s assistant CEO,  stressed the convenience that the clinic will offer residents.

“Nobody wants you to get sick, but people do feel ill, and it’s never a convenient time,” Sutton said. “That’s what we did the walk-in clinic for. At 8 a.m., if you don’t feel well; or after work, we’re here for you. I really appreciate that we have great nurse practitioners that work in these clinics. They’re kind, they want to be here for whatever you guys need, so it’s a great place to start any time you need us.”
