Jean Marie Brown
Jean Marie Brown of Ste. Genevieve died on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital in Ste. Genevieve. She was 91 years old.
She was born May 19, 1928, in Kaskaskia, Illinois, a daughter of Everett DeRousse and Mary Elizabeth “Bessie” DeRousse.
She was married to Don A. Brown on February 12, 1947, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Woods and her husband David of Ste. Genevieve; one son, William “Bill” Brown and his wife Marilyn of Crystal City; two sisters, Jewell Maloney of Ste. Genevieve, Juanita Swyers of Festus; special friends Gib Eckenfels and Sherry Klein; seven grandchildren, Cara, Paula, Jodi, Todd, Sommer, Dawn, Melanie; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Terry Brown; two sisters, Eileen Vogt, Ruby Derickson; and three brothers, Hunter DeRousse, Joe “Junior” DeRousse, Clarence “Bucky” DeRousse.
She was a member of Golden Age Club, Country Music Associates, and VFW Post 2210 Auxiliary.
She was an employee at Prince Gardener for approximately 35 years.
She loved music and dancing, golf and fishing, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She was a caregiver, taking care of friends and family.
Private Burial will be at a later date. Basler Funeral Home of Ste. Genevieve is handling the arrangements.
