BINGO

Senior citizens bingo will take place starting at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Bloomsdale.

FROSTY BREWFEST

The eighth annual Frosty Brewfest and Spirits event is on tap, again showcasing the best regional brews, on Saturday, January 25, at Crown Valley Winery in Ste. Genevieve. Local breweries and distilleries join together to sample their seasonal and fan-favorite beers and spirits. Event includes live music, catered lunch and cold drinks available for purchase as well. The event will take place outdoors, but a fire pit and heaters will be available. General admission tickets are $35 in advance and allow access from noon to 4 p.m. and a souvenir tasting glass. Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the event for $45.

EAGLE FEST

The 2020 Eagle Fest will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday,

February 1, at the Jerry F. Costello Lock and Dam, 4800 Lock and Dam Road, in Modoc, Illinois. Activities include eagle-watching with spotting scopes, the World Bird Sanctuary, edible animals presentation given by Animology, and tours of the lock and dam. This event is free to all. CHOCOLATE WALK

The Downtown Ste. Genevieve organization’s annual Chocolate Walk will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 1. Tickets currently are on sale and cost $15 in advance, $20 last-minute. Among the confirmed participating stops so far: 109 North Main Gallery and Studio, Aududon Grill and Bar, Belle Ever After Boutique, Common Grounds Coffee House, Harold’s Famous Bee Co., Lewsi Winery, Main Street Inn, Queen Anne’s Lace Boutique, Rosie’s Posies, Rustik Sand Kandles, LLC, Sassafras Creek Originals, Show Me Shop, St. Vincent DePaul Christmas Room and Collectibles, Steiger Jewelers, Sweet Things Sweet Shop.

HISTORY OF CHOCOLATE

The Felix Valle House State Historic Site will be hosting a program on chocolate at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 1. The program will highlight the impact chocolate has had on our collective food history, while emphasizing the influence of French culture. The free program will be presented in the Matthew Ziegler Art Gallery at the Shaw House, located at 200 Merchant St. in Ste. Genevieve. QUEEN’S BALL

The 2020 Ste. Genevieve Queen’s Ball will be take place on Saturday, February 1, at the VFW Hall on Memorial Drive. There is a change in the hours for the dance this year. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the dance will conclude at 11 p.m. This being a leap year, a queen will be chosen in the traditional manner. The band, Cash Rebates, will again call the dances and provide dance instructions.

Blood Drive

BLOOMSDALE

An American Red Cross blood drive will take place from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, at Bloomsdale Elementary School, 6279 Highway 61.

Organizations

SGCMH QUILTING

The Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital Partners/Auxiliary will have quilting from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following days: Wednesday, January 29; Thursday, January 30; and Friday, January 31. All quilters are invited to help quilt baby quilts that will be sold in the hospital gift shop. Quilting takes place on the lower level of the hospital in the education room. Lunch will be served each day.

Open House

ST. AGNES

St. Agnes School in Bloomsdale will host an open house from 11 a.m. to noon on Sunday, January 26. The public is invited to 10 a.m. Mass, or just to come to the school to enjoy a treat, visit classrooms and talk with faculty and students.

Support Groups

TOPS STE. GEN.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) meets every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Ste. Genevieve County Health Department, 115 Basler Drive, for weigh-in and a program. For information, call 573-883-5582.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY

Celebrate Recovery meets at 6 p.m. each Wednesday at Hope Church, 30 Triangle Drive. Dinner is served from 6 to 6:30 p.m.; large group meets from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; small groups meet from 7:30 to 8 p.m. For information, call 573-883-8984.

TOPS LAKE FOREST

Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) meets 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday mornings at the Lake Forest Community Center. For information, call 314-402-9963.

CANCER SUPPORT GROUP

The Cancer Support Group meets at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital. For information, call 573-883-7735.
