New Support Group Forms In County For Friends, Family Members Of Addicts
Ste. Genevieve County Health Department director Sandra Bell announced the formation of a community support group for individuals who have friends or family members struggling with addiction.
“It’s going to be run through the pastoral alliance in Ste. Genevieve County until it gets up and running on its own,” Bell said. “We’ve heard a lot from people that they wanted something to go to to talk about problems and issues they’re having with their loved ones, so we’re going to try this and see how that starts off.”
The group is non-denominational and will try to provide support, hope, encouragement and acceptance to family members affected by their loved one’s substance dependence.
The first meeting is scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, at the Silversmith’s House, 150 S, Main St.
