Music And Movement Program Being Offered At Library

The first program targeted at encouraging interactive play at the Ste. Genevieve County Library will begin on Saturday, January 25.

The “Music and Movement” program is geared for infants through early childhood ages and will be led by Nate Kingery, music teacher at Bloomsdale Elementary.

The class will begin at 10 a.m.

“I’m excited because this was another program our patrons requested, and when I mentioned the idea to Nate, he got really excited about it and he is really great at inspiring kids with music,” said Shawn Long, Ste. Genevieve County Library director.

The program will be interactive throughout the hour and feature different songs, instruments and activities that get the kids moving, singing and dancing.

“The goal for us is to help families teach their children about something they might not otherwise get to see,” Long said. “The program will get kids singing, clapping and making some noise in the library; and with Nate leading it I think all in attendance will have a great time.”

Long hopes the program will be offered regularly.
