Zoning Change On Progress Parkway Receives P&Z Recommendation

STE. GENEVIEVE HERALD
Unlike the previous meeting of the Ste. Genevieve Planning and Zoning Commission, last Thursday’s meeting was only three minutes long.
In September, the commission met for more than an hour to discuss a potential marijuana cultivation operation.
Last week, the commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of a request by Mark Heisel of Bogey Creek Developers to rezone lot 2 of the Re-Plat of Highway 32 Industrial Park from l-1 Light Industrial to C-1 General Commercial District. The lot is located in the 1000 block of Progress Parkway.
A public hearing will be held during the January 23 Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen meeting.
The land, recently sold by the city, is near the Wynncrest Apartments, previously built by Bogey Creek.
It is anticipated that more apartments will be built on the land.
No one was present to speak or answer questions on behalf of the developer.
Despite this, a motion to approve the request was made almost immediately and passed with a 7-0 vote, with one member absent.
