Basiles Have SGCMH’s First Baby Of 2020
Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) announced Keatyn James Basile was the First Baby of the Year, winning prizes in a promotion sponsored by the hospital and and area businesses.
Dr. Tony Lam, MD, was the delivering physician.
Baby boy Keatyn was born at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1.
He weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces and 20 3/4 inches long.
The parents, Renee and Valentino Basile of Bloomsdale. were thrilled about their baby being the first of the New Year.
Mom was especially excited to see Keatyn after being in labor for many hours.
“We came in on December 30th, and he finally came on January 1,” she said. “I was not expecting him to take so many hours to come.”
Keatyn was greeted by his siblings, Stefano, 9 years old; Isabella, 6; and Azalya, 2.
Keatyn and his parents were showered with gifts from area merchants, including: a one-night stay at the Microtel Inn and Suites; a $20 gift card from Audubon’s Grill & Bar; a $30 gift card from Sirro’s; a $100 gift card from the Ste. Genevieve Community Center; a $25 Walmart gift card; and a swag bag with lots of goodies from First Bank, diapers and more from SGCMH, and a baby quilt from SGCMH Auxiliary/Partners.
The family was very appreciative for all the gifts and thanked the hospital and businesses for their support.
