Glenda Fallert

Glenda (Meyer) Fallert of Bloomsdale died on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. She was 85 years old.

She was born on January 10, 1934, in Ste. Genevieve, a daughter of Harry and Ottilia (Schweiss) Meyer.

She was married to Joseph Fallert Sr. on June 3,

1952, and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons, Joseph Fallert Jr. and his wife Carol, Gene Fallert and his wife Tina, Jim Fallert and his wife Cindy; one daughter, Jackie Stropes; one sister, Mary Baechle; three brothers, Norman Meyer and his wife Pansy, David Meyer and his wife Marta, Tom Meyer and his wife Nancy; three sisters-in law, Sharon Meyer, Olivia Gielow and her husband Alfred, Martha Lou Fallert; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister in-law, Harry and Donna Meyer; one brother, Melbourne Meyer; one grandchild; and one step-great-grandchild

She loved spending time with family and friends. She volunteered for many organizations including the Ste. Genevieve Nutrition Center, Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, St. Agnes School and Parish, Bloomsdale Elementary, Ste. Genevieve Care Center and ARC. She was a winner of 2017 lieutenant governor’s Senior Services Award.

In keeping with her wishes, her body was donated to science. A memorial will take place at a later date. Basler Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
