Blood Drive

VFW

The Ste. Genevieve VFW at 852 Memorial Hill will host a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 2.

LA GUIGNOLEE

The La Guignolee singing group meets at the American Legion Post 150 at 5 p.m. to warm up a little, then heads to the three nursing homes in town. La Guignolee will then stop at: Cafe Genevieve (Flash Cafe building) at 6:30 p.m.; American Legion Post 150 club room; Valle High School gymnasium at 7 p.m.; the Anvil restaurant at 7:10 p.m.; the Old Brick House restaurant at 7:20 p.m.; Buddy’s Place at 7:35 p.m.; the Centre for French Colonial Life at 8 p.m.; the Bolduc House at 8:15 p.m.; Audubon’s Grill and Bar at 8:45 p.m.; the American Legion at 9 p.m.; the Point at 9:30 p.m.; Elks Lodge at 10 p.m.; Zell Jaycees at 10:30 p.m.; Knights of Columbus Hall at 11:15 p.m.; and the Legion at midnight.

GUIGNOLEE WATCH PARTY

French Colonial America will host a La Guignolee Watch Party from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, at the Centre for French Colonial Life, 198 Market St. Included in the free festivities are: Dennis Stroughmatt performing in concert, period games, food and drink, Stroughmatt performing with La Guignolee at both the Bolduc House and the Centre for French Colonial Life.

FIRST DAY HIKE

Hawn State Park will be among the Missouri State Parks participating in the First Day Hike on Wednesday, January 1. In its ninth year, the annual event is part of America’s State Parks First Day Hike effort which gives people the opportunity to start off the year with an outdoor hike at a state park. The hike at Hawn State Park will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. and begins at the Whipering Pines trailhead.

FROSTY BREWFEST

The eighth annual Frosty Brewfest and Spirits event is on tap, again showcasing the best regional brews, on Saturday, January 25, at Crown Valley Winery in Ste. Genevieve. Local breweries and distilleries join together to sample their seasonal and fan-favorite beers and spirits. Event includes live music, catered lunch and cold drinks available for purchase as well. The event will take place outdoors, but a fire pit and heaters will be available. General admission tickets are $35 in advance and allow access from noon to 4 p.m. and a souvenir tasting glass. Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the event for $45.
