Vernetta V. Donze of Ste. Genevieve died on Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Ste. Genevieve Care Center. She was 87 years old.
She was born September 18, 1932, in Weingarten, a daughter of Edward V. Hermann and Emma A. (Bauman) Hermann.
She was married to Wilson Donze on May 16, 1953, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane Brown and her husband David of Independence, Missouri, Emma “Lisa” Hirsch and her husband Gary of St. Louis; one brother, Leon Hermann and his wife Barbara of Ironton; one sister-in-law, Linda Hermann of Ste. Genevieve; and four grandchildren, Ashley Roth and her husband Dustin, Cassie Baughn and her husband Travis, Andy Hirsch, Amy Hirsch.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Rosalia Joggerst; two brothers, Ervin Hermann, Leonard Hermann; one brother-in-law, Russell Joggerst; and one sister-in-law, Marcella Hermann.
She was a member of VFW Auxiliary and Our Lady Help of Christians Sodality of Mary. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, bingo and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral services were Thursday, December 5, at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Weingarten. Rev. Francis Koeninger officiated. Burial was at Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery in Weingarten. Basler Funeral Home of Ste. Genevieve handled the arrangements.
Memorials may be made for Masses or to Crown Hospice.
