Wiring Work May Have Solved Problem With Recycling Center’s Baler

Trouble has apparently been averted with the county recycling center’s baler.

The Ste. Genevieve County Commission was concerned about repairing the aging piece of equipment, whose manufacturer is no longer in business. Attempts to replace a valve had proven unsuccessful. Some tinkering, however, seemed to take care of the issues.

Presiding Commissioner Garry Nelson called Brenda Stuppy, president of Ste. Genevieve Industries, to discuss the situation. Stuppy said Sheriff’s Office personnel had worked on the wiring.

“It sounds good this morning,” she said.

She believed the wiring could have been the issue all along, instead of the valve, which was thought to be in need of replacement.

Nelson asked Stuppy to get some information for various options, in case further issues develop.

Stuppy said she would “put out a few feelers.”
