Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle On I-55 Last Thursday
A 57-year-old man from Warrenton, Missouri, was killed on Thursday, October 10, after being struck by an automobile on Interstate 55 in southern Ste. Genevieve County, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident took place around 8:50 p.m. at mile marker 143.2 in the southbound lanes.
Joseph D. Shilharvey of Warrenton was attempting to cross the roadway when he was struck by the front of a 2016 Honda Odyssey traveling in lane 1 of the southbound lanes. The vehicle was being driven by Michelle H. Gerard, 49, of Cape Girardeau.
Shilharvey was pronounced dead on the scene at 9:50 p.m. by Ste. Geneviee County Coroner Eric Basler. The body was taken to the Ste. Genevieve County Coroner’s Office by Basler.
