Dorothy Mae Hayden-Ross
Dorothy Mae Hayden-Ross of St. Louis and formerly of Bloomsdale died on Monday, October 7, 2019, at Nazareth Living Center. She was 85 years old.
She was born on September 4, 1934, in Hussberg, Tennessee.
She is survived by three sons, Larry Hayden and his wife Brenda of St. Mary, Jimmie Hayden and his wife Lois of Drummonds, Tennessee, Charles Hayden of Warrensburg; one daughter, Linda Grimm of Imperial; two brothers, Jimmie Chappel and his wife Peggy of Sikeston, Bobby Chappel and his wife Thelma of Sikeston; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Odie Chappel; her mother, Beulah (Forrest) Chappel; her first husband, Joseph Hayden; her second husband, James Ross; two sons, Jeffrey Hayden, Michael Hayden; three sisters, Virginia Groves, Ann Curtis, Estelle Brown.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning and dancing, especially the jitterburg.
Funeral services were Saturday, October 12 at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus. Mahn Twin City Chapel handled the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
