Final Bill To Be Paid On Waterpark Construction

About $200,000 from the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center Foundation will help the county pay the final bill on the River Rapids Waterpark.

The project itself came in under the $10 million budget. Some banking fees had not been figured in, however. That combined with tax money not being received as early as anticipated had left the county momentarily a tad short.

The commissioners last Thursday discussed the final bill with representatives of Brockmiller Construction, the project manager at risk. The final portion due was $419,889, although the commissioners were told a $50,000 “retainage fee” would be sufficient.

“I’d rather pay it in one chunk,” Presiding Commissioner Garry Nelson said. “I’d rather go through the punch list and pay the entire $419,000 at one time.”
