Drop Box Will Allow County Residents To Make Tax Bill Payments Without Entering Courthouse
After discussing the situation with County Collector Claudia Stuppy, the Ste. Genevieve County Commission voted to install a drop box onto the Third Street courthouse door for tax payments to be dropped off.
The box will allow residents to drop tax payments after hours or to avoid going through the new courthouse security, including a metal detector.
“With the security system, a lot of people might not want to come in,” Presiding Commissioner Garry Nelson said.
Receipts will be mailed to those who use the box, just as they go to citizens who mail their payments in currently.
