Bloomsdale Elementary Welcomes New Students
Bloomsdale Elementary hosted its New Student Welcome event on August 28.
The Bloomsdale Student Lighthouse group, along with the Bloomsdale PTO, hosted the event, where all new students were invited to meet one another, talk with student leaders, work on group activities and enjoy doughnuts. They received new green and white dragons t-shirts to wear on Spirit Fridays, generously donated by the PTO.
The students participated in a scavenger hunt around the building and playgrounds, to familiarize themselves with finding their way around the elementary school and to meet staff members like the office secretaries, the school custodian and the school nurse.
The student leaders used their recess time to plan the event and to make welcome cards for the new students. School resource officer Christy Clark, school-home coordinator Stephanie Gegg and assistant superintendent Dr. Paul Taylor were on hand to meet the students and facilitate the activities. Counselor Amy Rowland and principal Lorie Zuspann also attended to help the students feel welcome and learn about lead groups.
