Public Hearing On Medical Marijuana Facility Postponed To December

Ste. Genevieve city administrator Martin Toma announced at last Thursday’s Board of Aldermen meeting that David Kertz’s request for a special use permit to operate a medical marijuana cultivation and manufacturing facility at 1040 Rozier St. would not receive a public hearing on September 26 after all.

Toma said Kertz had requested a postponement until a state license could be obtained.

Toma said December 12 is now the tentative date for the public hearing.

Initially, plans had been made for the September 26 meeting — of which the public hearing would have been part — to be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall to accommodate the expected large crowd.

More than 50 people jammed into the council chambers for the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on September 5 when the application was reviewed and recommended to the Board of Aldermen.

The September 26 Board of Aldermen meeting will be at City Hall.
