Bernice (Greenlee) Bollinger
Bernice (Greenlee) Bollinger died on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at Riverview at the Park Care and Rehabilitation Center in Ste. Genevieve. She was 91 years old.
She was born in Pevely on January 20, 1928, a daughter of the late Earl and Lula Belle (Thomas) Greenlee and the oldest of seven children.
She was married to Edwin F. Bollinger, Sr. on December 29, 1945, and he preceded her in death,
She is survived by two sons, Ed Bollinger and his wife Carol of Ste. Genevieve, Earl Bollinger and his wife Sheris of Bridgeton, Missouri; one daughter, Marie Jirik and her husband Dave of Farmington; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Greenlee and his wife Cecilia of Mapaville; one sister, Charlotte Meritt of Perryville.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, William L. Bollinger; one grandson, William J. Bollinger, four sisters, Wanita Cartee, Ruth Hulvey, Earlene Hostetter, Doris Nash; and two brothers-in-law, Kenny Cartee and Don Hulvey.
She and her husband lived most of their 45 years of marriage in Bloomsdale. Along with being a dedicated wife and mother she worked five-plus years as a certified nurse’s aide at Riverview Manor in Ste. Genevieve. After retirement she volunteered at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City as a pink lady.
Funeral services were Monday, August 26. Burial was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pevely. Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus handled the arrangements.
