Ste. Genevieve Woman Suffers Serious Injuries In Crash In St. Francois County

Joanna R. Istre of Ste. Genevive suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident on July 30 in St. Francois County, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Istre, 45, was driving a 2004 Pontiac Vibe southbound on Berry Road just south of Silver Springs Road at around 5:30 p.m. when the accident took place.

The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. Istre overcorrected, and the vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Istre was taken by Survival Flight to Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

— A St. Mary woman suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident on July 28 in Ste. Genevieve County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

April R. Layton, 21, of St. Mary, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze eastbound on Eisenbeis Bottom Road east of Bahr Road at about 12:29 p.m. when the accident took place.

Her vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert, rocks and a tree.

She was taken by the Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance District to Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.

She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

— A Park Hills woman suffered minor injuries in an accident on Highway 32 in Ste. Genevieve County on July 22, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Hallie J. Gilmore, 18, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze westbound on Highway 32 west of Weingarten Road at about 3:50 p.m. when the accident took place.

Gilmore’s vehicle swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting a vehicle that was stopped in anticipation of making a left turn. Gilmore’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.

She was taken by the Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance District to Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.

She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

— A Bonne Terre woman suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident on July 22 in Ste. Genevieve County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Christy L. Jones, 30, was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer southbound on Route D at Route HH at around 7:34 a.m. when the accident took place.

Her vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch and then a tree.

She was taken by St. Francois County EMS to Parkland Health Center.

It was unknown whether she was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
