Board Of Equalization Upholds Assessor’s Value On Two Properties

The Ste. Genevieve County Board of Equalization sustained property values as presented by Ste. Genevieve County Assessor Linda Wagner in both cases it heard on July 18.

The board meets annually to mediate disputes between property owners and the Assessor’s Office.

This year, Spire Missouri [formerly Missouri Natural Gas] and T-Mobile Central lodged the only two appeals.

Chuck Kuper represented Spire Missouri.

Spire still has tax years 2014 through 2018 under appeal with the Missouri Tax Commission. The vote to uphold Wagner’s assessment was unanimous.

Demetrie Mathison, tax manager for T-Mobile, took part in the hearing by phone along with Brandon Bays, property manager.

They said their 2018 taxes are still being appealed to the state and that they wish to reserve the right to appeal this year’s.

Wagner said she had not received a detailed asset listing from T-Mobile for each location to include cost of new equipment. She said it had also been requested in 2018 but was not received.

The vote was also unanimous to uphold Wagner’s assessment.
