Eugenia J. Crump of Ste. Genevieve died on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at her home. She was 87 years old.
She was born January 31, 1932 in Biehle, a daughter of Joseph Ponder and Theresia B. (Buchheit) Ponder.
She was married to Orville “Jack” O. Crump on April 19, 1952, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by three sons, Alan Crump and his wife Peggy of Ste. Genevieve, Bradley Crump and his wife Kelly of Ste. Genevieve, Colby Crump of Ste. Genevieve; four daughters, Brenda Lipp and her husband Ronald of Ste. Genevieve, Cynthia Shuh and her husband Ray of Ste. Genevieve, Lori Griffard and her husband Steven of Ste. Genevieve, Marcia Ditch and special friend Rosco Otte of Ste. Genevieve; one sister, Geraldine Farrar of Cape Girardeau; 21 grandchildren, Jackie Ponder, Cathy Donze, Jeffrey Lipp, Ronald Lipp Jr., Christopher Lipp, Alissa Dowdy, Jodie Collier, Katie Perrymann, Jamie Hogenmiller, Becky Hogenmiller, Lindsey Hogenmiller, Christopher Griffard, Jason Crump, Stephen Crump, Keith Crump, Brandon Crump, Dawn Clark, Derek Crump, Jordan Crump, Nathan Davitz, Randi Belton; and 40 great-grandchildren
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Crump; and two sisters, Rowena Meyer and Willette Meyer.
She was a very faithful person, and she never met a stranger. She loved to tell stories and enjoyed quilting. She loved being on the boat cooking for the Luhr Brothers crew. She was a very generous lady and loved her family and friends very much.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 26, and 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. Rev. Edward Nemeth and Monsignor Jerome Buchheit will officiate. Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve. Basler Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
