Special Road District’s Next Paving Project Will Start In Late Summer

It will be late summer before Special Road District A’s next overlaying project can start.

Road foreman Paul Bauman reported at the July 9 board meeting that Vern Bauman Contracting is busy doing school jobs this summer. He said it will be late August or early September before they can get to the next project.

The board and Paul Bauman agreed that a 1,500-foot stretch of Eisenbeis Bottom Road will also be paved next, following Roth Quarry Road. It will have to be bid out.

Paul Bauman said he intended to do some patching, but getting oil delivered proved difficult. Then vacation days and the Fourth of July holiday moved things back.

Paul Bauman said the road crew has been busy “keeping up with all the mowing” and sealing cracks on roads.
