Michael P. Maloney

Michael Peter Maloney died on Monday, June 24, 2019, at Laclede Groves in Webster Groves. He was 89 years old.

He was born August 10, 1929, in St. Mary, a son of Clarence L. Maloney and Mary Adelaide (Bartels) Maloney.

He is survived by four brothers, Charles Maloney of St. Louis, James Maloney of Perryville, Paul Maloney and his wife Shirley of St. Louis, Jerry Maloney and his wife Jeannette of St. Louis; five sisters, Sister Kathleen Mary Maloney, FSM, of St. Louis, Mary Agnes Otte of Perryville, Rose Margaret Carroll of Austin, Texas, Patricia Ann Spahn of Kansas City, Missouri, Joan Marie Welker and her husband Francis of Perryville; two sisters-in-law, Jewell Maloney of Ste. Genevieve, Jackie Maloney of Farmington; 30 nieces and nephews; and many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews,

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Maloney, Joseph Maloney; three brothers-in-law, August A. Otte, Joseph Spahn, Bill Carroll; one sister-in-law, Elaine Maloney; and two nephews, Stephen Otte and Billy Carroll.

He was a talented interior decorator at Craig Furniture and was a member of the American Institute of Interior Design. He was a generous and kind man, a beloved and cherished brother, uncle and in-law. He will be missed by all who loved him.

Funeral services were Monday, July 1, at Immaculate Conception Church in St. Mary. Rev. Gerald Blessing officiated. Burial was at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in St. Mary. Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve handled the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Masses, Alzheimer’s Association, Mercy Hospice, or Immaculate Conception Preservation Fund.
