County Road Crews Again Slowed In Paving Progress By Spring Weather

Yet again, spring weather has hindered Ste. Genevieve County road crews from working on road preparation for paving.

Scott Schmieder, the county’s road and bridge foreman, reported to the Ste. Genevieve County Commission last Thursday that he had to pull crews off preparing Madden Creek Road and have them rehab roads damaged by heavy rains. He said it was mainly on the western end of the county.

He also reported that chip-and-seal work on Bodine Road was halted when the crew ran out of oil. The oil supplier said their truck broke down, keeping them from delivering more oil. A shipment was expected by July 1.
