Gonz Hired As St. Mary Attorney; Parking Restrictions Approved For Circle Dr.

With all members present, the St. Mary Board of Aldermen last week agreed to hire Jacquelyn Gonz to provide legal services for the city and it passed a parking ban for a portion Circle Drive during certain hours.

The actions took place during last Thursday’s meeting, one month after the regularly scheduled meeting could not be conducted due to the lack of a quorum.

“I’m so proud to see the whole board here,” Mayor Gloria Bader said at the beginning of the meeting. “It makes me feel good.”

The board tabled discussion of budget amendments until later in the meeting but did not return to the topic during the regular meeting. The board went into a closed meeting related to personnel matters later in the evening.

On Circle Drive, the ordinance establishes a no-parking zone on the southeast side of Circle Drive from 6 to 8 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. weekdays and also when the street requires plowing during the winter.
