Water Park Target Date For Opening Now Middle Of July

Brad Arnold, executive director of the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center, reported during last Thursday’s County Commission meeting that concrete work is nearly done at the River Rapids Water Park, including sidewalks.

“That’s a big step,” Presiding Commissioner Garry Nelson said.

Arnold said water park personnel will train on June 27 and June 28, and he hopes the water park can open to the public on July 8.

[Arnold clarified after publication that the date was fluid. He said following a meeting of the community center board that took place after the County Commission that he now hopes for the date to be July 10.]

“It’s starting to look like a water park,” Nelson said. “People are getting excited.”
