STATE PARKS

Felix Valle House State Historic Site and Hawn State Park invite the public to an informational meeting at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Hawn State Park. The public is invited to share comments about the site and park and their operations. Staff will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. The informational meetings help create two-way communication with the public. Hawn State Park is located at 12096 Park Drive in Ste. Genevieve. For more information, call the park at 573-883-3603.

Organizations

SGCMH QUILTING

The Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital Partners will have quilting from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day on the following dates: Monday, June 3; Tuesday, June 4; and Wednesday, June 5. All quilters are invited to help quilt baby quilts to be sold in the hospital gift shop. Quilting takes place in the education room on the lower level of the hospital and lunch will be served all three days. More quilters are needed, as the baby quilts are being sold rapidly and the organization needs to build up its inventory.

Parish Picnics

ST. ANNE

St. Anne Parish in French Village will host its annual picnic from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 9. Kettle beef and fried chicken dinners with liver dumplings will be served. Dinners are $10 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 12, and free for those 6 and under. The event also includes music, games, bingo, a country store, a raffle and hourly drawings.

DOWN SYNDROME

Audubon’s Grill and Bar on Tuesday, June 4, will be hosting a community dinner to benefit the Spring for Down Syndrome event. Ten percent of proceeds from food and drink sales between 4 and 8 p.m. will be donated to the cause.

ALZHEIMER’S

Audubon’s Grill and Bar on Tuesday, June 18, will be hosting a community dinner to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. Ten percent of proceeds from food and drink sales between 4 and 8 p.m. will be donated to the cause.
