CE Contracting Submits Low Bid For Work on New Bourbon Port Road
CE Contracting, the firm that recently did rip-rap work for the New Bourbon Regional Port Authority, had the lowest of three bids recently opened by the port board for repairing sections of New Bourbon Port Road.
CE bid $60,926; Fricke Management of Murphysboro, Illinois bid $78,277; and Jokerst, Inc., bid $90,007.
Paperwork must be reviewed before the bid is accepted.
Project engineer Chris Koehler of Koehler Engineering, who was not present at the May 22 meeting, recommended the CE bid be accepted if everything checks out.
The project to repair the access road east of Cottonwood Road to the harbor is separate from a project the county is planning for another section of New Bourbon Port Road.
The section the port authority manages was first washed out in flooding more than three years ago and again in the spring of 2017.
