Ste. Gen. Students Among Organizers Of MAC Book Fair
Kyleigh Sulkowski of Ste. Genevieve co-chaired a committee of honor students for the fifth annual Mineral Area College Book Fair, which took place April 1 through April 5 at the C.H. Cozean Library.
The event was organized by students from Mineral Area College’s early childhood education and teacher education programs. They organized, marketed and hosted the week’s events.
Sulkowski served as co-chair with Justin Minks of Farmington. The nine-person committee also included Amanda Kistler of Ste. Genevieve.
The wildly popular theme for the week was “Enchanted Forest Book Fair: Let Your Imagination Grow!” The purpose of the event was to promote literacy among young people and for the student committee members to learn professional networking and organizational skills.
During Grand Night on April 2, young readers dressed as princes, princesses and knights enjoyed refreshments and fun with Clifford the Big Red Dog and Kirby the Cardinal. Additional activities included storytelling, face painting, unicorn craft projects, coloring projects, and a photo booth.
