Quarrytown Road Will Be First In Special Road District A To Be Paved This Spring

Special Road District A board members agreed that Quarrytown Road will be paved first this year, followed by Bourbon Road and Roth Quarry Road.

Road foreman Paul Bauman said that Roth Quarry had been prepared for paving.

“We’ve just got to touch it up,” he said.

He said Dean Bauman of Vern Bauman Contracting, who won the bid for the overlay jobs, had asked which road the district would like to do first. …

Paul Bauman was asked if he would have to wait until water recedes before Quarrytown Road can be done. The end of Quarrytown at Highway 61 was under water in the early part of the month due to flooding. Paul Bauman replied that Highway 61 would not need to be open, but it had opened by the end of last week.

Some discussion also took place about a spot on Siebert Road. Two ponds along the road are overflowing over the road.

“I don’t want to build the road up,” chairman Paul Arnold said. “That would be expensive.”

It was agreed that installing a pipe might be a good solution.
