Four Teens Suffer Moderate Injuries In Crash On I-55 In Ste. Genevieve County
Four teenagers suffered moderate injuries in a one-car crash on southbound Interstate 55 at 10:38 p.m. on May 17, according to a report of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident took place near mile marker 158.
A 16-year-old female from Lake Saint Louis was driving a 2000 Toyota Celica southbound when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway.
She overcorrected and the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a rock bluff and overturned.
The driver was injured, as was a 15-year-old female from St. Peters, Missouri; a 17-year-old female from O’Fallon, Missouri; and a 16-year-old female from Wentzville.
The Wentzville girl was taken to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis by the Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance District. The other three injured teens were taken by the Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance District to Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.
All four were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
