Roscoe H. Moody Jr. of Ste. Genevieve died on Monday, April 22, 2019, at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital in Ste. Genevieve. He was 75 years old.
He was born May 20, 1943 in Cash, Arkansas.
He was married to Enola Moody on February 3, 1968, in Ste. Genevieve, and she survives in Ste. Genevieve.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Thomas Moody of Ste. Genevieve; one daughter, Nanya Gegg and her husband Jeff of Ozora; one sister, Clara Sue Averett and her husband Wayne of St. Louis; two brothers, Melvin Moody and his wife Beth of St. Louis, Duane Moody and his wife Toni of Fenton; and two grandchildren, Logan Gegg and Liam Moody.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roscoe H. Moody Sr.; his mother, Daisy Helen (Hurst) Moody; and a grandchild, Alexis Gegg.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of American Legion Post 150. He had retired from Mississippi Lime after 39 years. He enjoyed gardening and was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
A memorial service took place on Thursday, April 25, at First Baptist Church. Rev. Ryan Tisher officiated. Basler Funeral Home of Ste. Genevieve handled the arrangements.
